Blur – The Best Of (Special Edition Double CD)
I’m not sure if I’ve ever listened to the live bonus CD! I will do in just over an hour though. Like I said, I’m not overly fussed about Blur, but I do really like a lot of their singles, so this was an obvious CD to buy! I remember buying it in HMV in Leeds. Obviously that’s of no real interest to anyone, but it’s strange how these things stick in your head isn’t it?
‘Coffee And TV’ – Ah, my favourite Blur song. Definitely 🙂
‘Tender’ – Argh! This is one of those songs that loads of people seem to love, but I really dislike it for some reason. It grates on me. And it was on TV far too often when it was released. It’s too whiny and dreary. Want to skip it, but must listen to all songs.
Onto the live CD now – tis really good. Although I see that there’s a live version of Tender looming. Maybe I’ll prefer the live version!
‘Stereotypes’ – why is this song not on the actual Best Of CD? It’s one of my favourites.
‘Tender’ – Yeah, I do prefer the live version! It feels more cheery.
Blur – Parklife (single) CD2
I’m pretty sure this is the first CD I ever bought myself. I remember Carrie had it (though I think she had CD1) and she played it to me round at hers – I thought it was cool, so bought a copy myself 🙂
Blur – Out Of Time (single)
Betty Boo – Grrr! It’s Betty Boo (album)
I’ve never actually listened to this album before. It was a belated Birthday/Christmas present from Dave one year. It was basically just a reference to the Top 10 Pop Princesses programme that Cerys presented with Betty Boo. Plus the ‘grrr’ in the title was funny, as I used to say that quite a lot at the time. Actually I still do really. But yeah, I never felt inclined to listen to it. Putting it in the computer just now I got quite excited for a second when I saw ‘All tracks produced by Boo/Coxon’. I was like ‘huh? Graham Coxon co-produced it?!??’, but then I looked inside and saw it was a bloke called ‘John Coxon’, he he. It was released in 1992 and is kinda dated, but it’s enjoyable enough. Good fun.
The Boy Least Likely To – Be Gentle With Me (single)
Michelle Branch – All You Wanted (single)
Bravecaptain – Advertisements For Myself (album promo)
This album really works best as an album. Some songs work on their own, but there are lots of short ones which only really work as part of the album. I haven’t listened to it for a while actually, tis cool 🙂
Bright Eyes – Digital Ash In A Digital Urn (Album)
I got this album for my birthday last year and I love it!!
‘Devil In The Details’ – My favourite song on the album and the one that made me want to get the album in the first place. I downloaded the MP3 from an LJ community and fell in love with it. I need to get me some more Bright Eyes albums.
